Quick answers

Can the Mann team read my journal?
Not what’s stored: entries are encrypted on your device before they reach our servers, and we hold ciphertext. But when you ask for a reflection or use Go Deeper, the full text is processed in flight by our AI provider and never retained afterward. See the privacy & security page for exactly what’s stored versus processed this way.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: Profile → Delete account. Or without the app at mannjournal.app/delete-account. Deleted immediately and permanently.
I got a new phone. Why can’t I open old entries?
Your entries are unlocked by a key that lives only in your phone’s secure hardware, and we never receive a copy of it, so we have no way to move it for you. On Android, a new phone has no way to receive that key, so old entries stay locked, always. On iPhone it depends on how you restored: an encrypted local backup made through Finder or iTunes on a computer carries the key across, and entries open as normal, but the far more common iCloud Backup restore to a new phone does not carry it, so entries stay locked there too, the same as Android. Locked entries are shown as locked, never deleted, and once a key is truly gone there is no way for us to recover it either.
I forgot my password.
Use “Forgot password” on the sign-in screen, or email support@mannjournal.app from your account email and we’ll send a reset link.
