Where Mann is better
Something writes back. In Daylio, nothing replies. In Mann, you write "Papa said the usual thing about the job" and Mann says back the sentence you buried in paragraph four. Daylio does not try to do that.
Sentences, not taps. A face and three activity icons can record that a day was bad. They cannot hold why. If the why is the part you have nobody to tell, a tap is not enough.
Indian languages. Daylio's screens come in Hindi and Bengali, and that is where it ends; it has no reply to translate. Mann writes back in Hinglish, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada as well, tuned for Hinglish rather than translated into it.
The context. Mann does not need "log kya kahenge" explained. Daylio has no view on it.
Where Daylio is better
Speed. Two taps and the day is logged. Mann asks for sentences.
Where the data lives. Daylio has no account and, by its own privacy policy, never sends entries to its servers. Mann's servers hold ciphertext, and the AI reads each entry in flight.
Charts. Daylio's "Influence on Mood" score tells you, with a confidence level, whether days with exercise or a call home go better than days without. Mann's weekly report does not attempt that.
Moving phones and exporting. Daylio's backup file moves from Android to iOS and back, and entries export as PDF or CSV. Mann's entries stay on the phone that wrote them.
A trial. Daylio gives 7 days of Premium free. Mann has none.
Who each is for
For most people reading this in India, Mann is the one to start with. It is free, it is in your language, and it costs ₹199 a month if you ever pay.
Mann is for someone with nobody safe to tell. You write the thing, in whatever language it arrives in. Mann says back the one sentence that mattered and gets out of the way. It is free, it stays free, and the paid plan is ₹199 a month.
Daylio is for someone who wants a record, not a conversation. You tap, it counts, and over months it shows you which habits matter and which weeks sank. Everything stays on your phone, free, for as long as you like. Daylio has done this since 2015.
Questions people ask
Is Daylio available in India? Yes, on Google Play India and the App Store India, with Premium priced in rupees on the App Store listing.
Does Daylio support Hindi? The App Store listing lists Hindi and Bengali among 34 app languages, not Hinglish, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu or Kannada. Because Daylio never replies, language only affects its menus. Mann replies in 8 Indian languages.
Which is cheaper? Both free plans have no end date. Daylio Premium runs ₹249 to ₹2,999 on the App Store India listing, with no monthly or yearly label, so we cannot give a fair per-month comparison. Mann is ₹199 a month or ₹1,699 a year.
Can I move from Daylio to Mann? Daylio exports entries as CSV or PDF. Mann has no import, and a Daylio export is mostly moods and activity ticks. You would start fresh. Some people keep Daylio for the taps and use Mann for the nights that need words.
