Where Mann is better
It writes back. This is the whole difference. In Diarium you write, and the entry is saved. In Mann you write, and it says back the sentence you buried in paragraph four. Diarium's pages do not mention AI at all.
Somewhere to say it first. Mann has a chat for the nights you cannot write a full entry yet, one question at a time. Diarium has no chat. Mann's chat messages are stored as plain text, so write the sensitive thing as an entry.
Indian languages that reply. Diarium's Hindi is a menu language. Mann reads a Hinglish entry and replies in Hinglish, and the same in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali and Marathi.
The crisis line. If an entry reads like a crisis, Mann gives you iCall (9152987821) and the Vandrevala Foundation (1860-2662-345) instead of a reflection. Diarium's pages do not mention this.
The context. When you write "Papa said the usual thing about the job", Mann does not need the usual thing explained.
Where Diarium is better
The price model. One payment, about ₹1,500, and Pro is yours on that platform. No subscription.
Your laptop. Diarium runs on Windows and Mac and syncs with the phone through your own cloud. Mann has no desktop or web app.
Nothing has to leave your phone. Diarium needs no account; the journal stays on your device, or goes to your own cloud if you turn on sync. Mann's entries leave the phone as ciphertext; a private safety screen reads every finished entry once, and the AI reads it in flight.
Photos, videos and files. Diarium is a memory book. Mann holds words.
Import and export. Diarium imports from Day One, Diaro, Journey, Daylio, Diarly, Daybook, Evernote and Apple Journal, and exports to Word, plain text, HTML and JSON. Mann has neither today.
Who each is for
Mann is for someone with nobody safe to tell. You write the thing, in whatever language it arrives in. Mann says back the sentence that was carrying the weight, and gets out of the way. For most people reading this in India, Mann is the one to start with. It is free, it stays free, and Premium is ₹199 a month.
Diarium is for someone who wants to keep their life: photos from the wedding, the weather that day, the map of where they went, in one file they own, for one payment. It does not talk.
Questions people ask
Is Diarium available in India? Yes. Google Play India and the App Store India both list Pro in rupees: ₹1,600 on Play, ₹1,499 on the App Store.
Does Diarium support Hindi? Its App Store listing includes Hindi among 36 interface languages; the Play listing does not list languages. No Hinglish or other Indian language, and no replies in any of them. Mann replies in 8 Indian languages.
Which is cheaper? Over years, Diarium: about ₹1,500 once against ₹1,699 a year for Mann Premium. Over the first months, Mann. Both free plans have no end date, and only Mann's includes an AI reflection a day.
Can I move from Diarium to Mann? Diarium exports to Word, plain text, HTML and JSON. Mann has no import today, so you would start fresh. Diarium's own import list does not include Mann.
