If you searched "Reflection app vs Mann", you are probably choosing between two apps that both say they will listen. Reflection.app is a journal with an AI coach inside it and a web app. Mann is the one built for India. This page puts them side by side.
We make Mann, so read this knowing that. We have tried to be exact rather than kind to ourselves. Where Reflection does something better, we say so, because you will find out anyway the first evening you use it.

Where Mann is better
Price, by the month. ₹199 against ₹499. The yearly comparison depends on which annual price Reflection shows you, so we do not claim it.
Indian languages. Reflection's interface is English only, and its FAQ names Spanish, French and Portuguese as the languages the AI replies in. Hindi is not mentioned. Mann writes back in Hindi, Hinglish, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali and Marathi, and was tuned for Hinglish rather than translated into it.
What the servers hold. Reflection encrypts your entries on its servers, AES-256 at rest on Google Cloud. Mann encrypts them on your phone before they are stored, so Mann's servers hold ciphertext. Both apps send the entry text to an AI model in flight to reply; neither hides your words from its own AI. In Mann, a private safety screen reads every finished entry once, and the AI reads it in flight to write the reflection. The difference is what sits on the server afterwards.
The context. When you write "Papa said the usual thing about the job", Mann does not need the usual thing explained. That is the reason it exists.
Where Reflection is better
A web app, and sync. Reflection runs in a browser, on a Mac and on a tablet, with the same entries everywhere. Mann does not, because the on-device key never leaves the phone that wrote the entry.
Memory and search. Reflection is built to remember. Ask it how you felt last spring and it answers from your history. Mann's reflection is written from the entry alone. Its memory sits in chat, the opening prompt and the weekly report, and reaches back about a fortnight.
A coach that talks back. The AI Coach asks a follow-up question while you are still writing. Voice Call answers out loud. Mann reflects once and stops.
The journal itself. Voice-to-text on the free plan, where Mann's is on Premium. Photos, rich text, templates, tags, handwriting scan, import and export, and over a hundred guided journeys against Mann's seven.
Who each is for
For most people reading this in India, Mann is the one to start with. It is free, it is in your language, and it costs ₹199 if you ever pay.
Mann is for someone with nobody safe to tell. You write the thing, in whatever language it arrives in. Mann says back the sentence you buried in paragraph four, and gets out of the way. It is free, it stays free, and the paid plan is ₹199 a month.
Reflection is for someone who wants a full journal with a coach inside it. You write, it asks, you can search years of it with a question, and it is on your laptop too. It is built for English, and costs ₹499 a month.
Questions people ask
Is Reflection.app available in India? Yes. It is on the App Store India and Google Play India, priced in rupees. Its terms say you must be 18 or older.
Does Reflection support Hindi? Not stated on their site. The interface is English only, and the FAQ's examples of languages the AI answers in are Spanish, French and Portuguese. Write an entry in Hindi and see. Mann replies in 8 Indian languages.
Which is cheaper? By the month, Mann: ₹199 against ₹499. By the year, it depends. Reflection's App Store India listing shows annual prices from ₹799 to ₹6,900, and at ₹799 it is cheaper than Mann's ₹1,699.
Can I move from Reflection to Mann? Reflection's FAQ says you can export all your entries as JSON and CSV on every plan. Mann has no import today. You would start fresh, which some people prefer.
